Over the years I have acquired two coffee and tea sets when family members passed on. They have been sitting in a closet ever since. These are relics of a previous time when one was gifted a coffee and tea set as a marriage gift. For Partners Gallery’s 25th (Silver) anniversary I transformed the individual pieces into new works of art. The reaction was either one of puzzlement, what is this? Or it was one of understanding, I know what this is. This is an example of culture and class. The transformation removes both.
