Ricia Araiza and Michael Leventhal were two of the nine founding artists of Partners Gallery at Glendeven Inn in 1999.
Their collaborative practice of working simultaneously on the same canvas provided interesting dialogues with visitors and quandaries from their fellow artists who worked in solitude. Partners in life and art Michael and Ricia never faltered in their choice.
Aside from producing vibrant paintings both had professional lives outside of the gallery. Michael was an architect and Ricia is an interior designer. Again, they often collaborated. Their knowledge and resources were valuable to the gallery as we refurbished and opened our space.
Partners Gallery is delighted to have echoes of these conversations on canvas on display again.
