Few of us, especially on the Mendocino Coast, can escape blue’s association with the vast expanse of sea and sky, but blue also is a great spectrum of hues from turquoise to cobalt and ultramarine. It has symbolic associations as in the Jewish tradition in which blue amulets bring protection and luck and sacred spaces are painted blue for peace love and harmony. Partners’ works explore some of the possibilities of blue in a variety of media including the blue moon in wet felt, blue as radiance, and fluffy blue scraps from the studio floor.
Meet the artists at Second Saturday September 14, from 5-7pm.
