Ode to Fragile Beauty is inspired by my concern for the environment and the effects of climate change. It is an exploration and reminder of the beauty of transitory moments in nature and the environment.
Nature inspires my work and stimulates my use of natural materials to express ideas. The natural world and our human relationship to it are interwoven as underlying subject matter in the pieces I create.
I incorporate traditional, ancient, and invented craft techniques to fashion objects and installations. I use materials such as wood, roots, dried leaves, pine needles, skeleton leaves, and wool, often combining them with other shapes I fabricate from paper clay.
