“Signs of Life” features the work of printmaker Kathy Carl exploring natural imagery through solarplate, as well as the mixed media collages and paintings of Karen Fenley, and Carolyn Schneider’s drawings and paintings depicting the humor and the horror of it all.
With this series of prints, I chose to explore the endless possibilities of creating "multiple originals" from one solarplate print. From the basic black plate, I introduced color from a separate run through the printing press or by applying hand-colored elements, or both. The process allowed me to escape into a secret garden of discovery. For more information, you may contact me directly at kathycarl.art@gmail.com.
I have been working like there’s no tomorrow with materials I was saving for the future. This show includes mixed media collages, paintings and drawings. For more information, you may contact me directly at bokfen@sbcglobal.net.
A dark frame of mind seems appropriate for these times, and my challenge is to see the humor and the hope as well as the horror. This variety pack of drawings and paintings is the result. For more information about my artwork, you can contact me at carolynmae66@gmail.com.
