My Solarplate prints are products of an experiential process. The imagery exists somewhere in our natural world, and becomes real to me after passing through a kind of inner filter. I start with a black ink drawing, done quickly and freely. From there, a dialogue begins between myself and the plate as I listen for a spark that says it is working. The multi-color printing and hand coloring changes the personalities of the finished print. It is a magical path of discovery and inspiration.
